Christopher Shatagin Sports Foundation
The Christopher Shatagin Foudation, is a donor-advised fund established in 2002 with a two-fold mission:
- The first goal of the foundation is to provide support for fun and recreation for young people who might not otherwise have
such opportunities.
- The second goal is to alert families who may have adopted a child from Asia in the 1970's to the potential health risk of
Hepatitis B.
Christopher Shatagin had undiagnosed Hepatitis B from birth, a condition which suddenly took his life in 2002.
Babies are routinely tested now, but the test was unavailable when Christopher was adopted from Korea. So, if you are
or know a young adult born in Asia who has not been tested, please heed this alert and ask a doctor about a simple blood test.

Christopher had a life-long interest in playing and teaching sports. Therefore his family and friends felt it would be
fitting to establish a fund that would benefit others in his name.
